Service
Involvement
The Texas
Blazers are committed to service, both on campus and in the Austin
community.
As the official hosts of the University, we are always available to help out
at any and all programs on campus. For example, in the fall we help host the
Presidential Reception before home football games, and in the spring we lend
a hand at UT Remembers, an annual day of remembrance honoring members of the
UT Austin community who died in the previous year. Oftentimes we will attend
service projects with other organizations on campus, such as the Orange
Jackets, the Student Volunteer Board, and the Texas Spirits.
In the Austin community, a major focus for Blazers is on Johnston High
School, where we mentor young men. When we are not hosting campus service
events or spending time with our mentees, we are busy in the local
community. In the past, we have helped out at many local non-profit
organizations, including the Capital Area Food Bank, Habitat for Humanity,
Special Olympics, and the Salvation Army.
If you would like to request the aid of the Texas Blazers at a service
event, please fill out the service request form, and we will get back to you
as soon as possible. |
